Agentic commerce is shopping done by AI agents on a person's behalf — the agent researches, compares, and buys, often with no human tapping "confirm." McKinsey projects it as a $3–5 trillion market by 2030.
Visa Intelligent Commerce and Mastercard Agent Pay tokenize agent payments; Mastercard Agent Pay is already inside OpenAI's Instant Checkout and Microsoft Copilot Checkout. Google's AP2 is the open, payment-agnostic standard (W3C Verifiable Credentials).
Visa names the real problem: product discoverability. If your catalog, pricing, and availability aren't machine-readable, agents can't find, compare, or buy from you — you're invisible in the channel that's about to matter most.
